Best Restaurants In Tokyo

Affiliate Disclosure

Two revenue streams keep this site alive, and both are stated openly here. Booking links for food tours may pay a commission, and our own product, The Tokyo Food List, is sold for $9. That is the whole picture. No eatery can pay its way onto any page, and nothing sits in fine print.

Where Tour Commissions Come From

Some links on this site are affiliate links. When a reader clicks one and books a tour, the site may receive a commission from the platform handling the sale. The reader pays nothing extra for this, since the commission comes out of the platform's own margin rather than being added to the price. Tour links appear in several places, including the tour section, dedicated tour pages and tour mentions inside articles.

Tour links point to live booking pages hosted by the platforms that sell these tours. Operators such as Traveling Tokyo, MagicalTrip and Japan Wonder Travel run the experiences themselves, while the platforms take payment, send confirmations and handle customer service. This site runs no tours, processes no bookings and never sees a card number. Commission-bearing links show up in the homepage tour band, on tour pages and wherever a tour is mentioned in an article, so treat any tour link here as potentially affiliate.

Our Own Product, The Tokyo Food List

The Tokyo Food List is sold directly for $9 through the guide's own checkout page. It lists 980+ restaurants, sorted by cuisine, each with Google ratings and price ranges, what to order, reservation difficulty, booking links and Google Maps pins. Tourist favourites and local spots both appear. The guide opens on a phone, updates arrive through the same link, and a map shows what sits within a ten-minute walk.

Selling the guide directly means the payment goes to the site rather than an outside platform, and no affiliate cut is built into the $9. The Food List is promoted across the site's articles, which is a financial interest that deserves plain statement whenever it is mentioned. That interest is declared here rather than left for readers to infer, and every reference to the guide on these pages carries the same disclosure behind it.

Same Price

Booking through an affiliate link costs the same as arriving at the listing on your own. No markup gets added, and this site collects no booking fee of any kind. Any commission due is paid by the platform from its side of the transaction. The figure shown before checkout is the amount charged.

No Restaurant Pays For Placement

Restaurants cannot purchase a listing, a ranking or a favourable description anywhere on these pages. PR agencies have no paid route in either, and no venue is included in exchange for anything of value. Each restaurant earns its place through the data that shapes the coverage, described in the sections here.

The restaurant pages grow from The Tokyo Food List, our own guide of 980+ restaurants organised by cuisine, with Google ratings, price ranges, what to order, booking links and a map of everything within a 10-minute walk. Tour commissions play no part in deciding which venues appear or how they are described. Tour money keeps the site running, while the restaurant coverage answers only to its own data.

What Happens After You Book

Figures shown for tours, meaning ratings, review counts and from-prices, come from the live listings and can change at any time. Six food tours are currently featured: a Shinjuku local-eateries walk with Traveling Tokyo, a Golden Gai bar hop with MagicalTrip, a Tsukiji market walk with five tastings, ramen and sushi making classes, and an omakase and A5 wagyu tour, all with free cancellation. Price, timing and terms rest with the live booking page. This site's part ends at sending readers there.

How Tour Bookings Work

Anything unclear in this disclosure, or any question about how a given link or product earns money, can go to info@bestrestaurantstokyo.com. Booking problems, refunds and tour timing sit with the platform or operator holding the order, as this site cannot view or amend one. Any other question about funding gets a straight reply.

Disclosure: this site sells The Tokyo Food List, a $9 digital guide, so we have a financial interest in recommending it on these pages.
